The house where Hawthorne was born; originally at 27 Union St., it now stands on the grounds of The House of the Seven Gables

The house where Hawthorne was born was moved in 1958 from 27 Union St. to the property of The House of the Seven Gables Historic Site where it now stands and is open to the public. Few of the original furnishings are in the house, but it does contain period pieces.
