Essex Bank Building, 11 Central St., Salem

Built in 1811 for the Essex Bank (established in 1792 and the first bank in Essex County), this is thought to be the only surviving Salem building designed by Charles Bulfinch (1763-1844), Boston's famous builder. In 1899 the Salem Fraternity a boys' club, purchased the building.
